How entries are judged
Entries in this category are assessed against four equally weighted criteria. Each criterion is scored out of 10, giving a total maximum score of 40.
Judges will award marks based on:
- Consistent high performance (10 points)
Evidence of sustained delivery of high-quality work aligned with business goals - Innovation and team development (10 points)
The extent to which the team demonstrates innovation, adaptability, and ongoing development - Creativity and originality (10 points)
The quality of creative thinking and originality in marketing activity - Meeting business objectives (10 points)
Evidence that the team has delivered measurable outcomes and business impact
What to include in your entry
Entries should clearly address each of the following areas, which form the basis of judging:
Consistent high performance
• Demonstrated effective teamwork to deliver strategic marketing activity aligned with business goals
• Showed consistency in delivering high-quality outputs across campaigns or initiatives
Innovation and team development
• Demonstrated adaptability and innovation in response to industry challenges or opportunities
• Showed commitment to team development, skills growth, and continuous improvement
Creativity and originality
• Delivered creative and original marketing approaches across campaigns or projects
• Demonstrated strong thinking in messaging, channels, or execution
Meeting business objectives
• Provided clear evidence of measurable outcomes such as increased brand awareness, specification, lead generation, client retention, or engagement
• Demonstrated how the team’s work contributed directly to business performance
Industry-specific examples might include:
- An in-house team delivering a successful go-to-market strategy for a new low-carbon building product
- A marketing team supporting a major rebrand across multiple divisions of a contractor or consultant
- An agency team driving campaign success for multiple clients in specification, product manufacturing, or digital construction
- A collaborative team effort to support project bids or stakeholder engagement on complex infrastructure or regeneration schemes
- A team leading the integration of ESG, social value, or digital innovation into a company’s marketing approach
This category is open to in-house marketing teams, agency teams, or integrated client-agency teams. Judges will look for evidence of teamwork, leadership, innovation, and clear impact on business performance.
Entries should include internal stakeholder or client testimonials and or third-party verification to support any claims made regarding team performance or results.
Interview Process:
Shortlisted entrants in this category will be invited to present their submission to the judging panel online via Zoom or a similar platform. Interview dates are to be confirmed, and full details will be provided to all shortlisted entrants following the initial judges’ meeting in mid-October. Presentations will be made to the judges for the Team of the Year category only.
