Kate Hobson speaks to past CMA winners about what it is like to win
Everyone likes to win an award but when your campaign is shortlisted or a member of your team is nominated for a Construction Marketing Award (CMA), that recognition really holds some weight.
Entering the CMA’s means your organisation recognises the value of marketing within the construction industry. It provides an opportunity to showcase your best work amongst your peers and the wider business community. It also presents an opportunity to acknowledge your team, boosting overall morale.
Previous winner, Alice Straker, Senior Account Manager from CIB was thrilled to even be nominated for Emerging Agency Star of the Year in 2023 and said: “Winning made me realise that I should be really proud of what I have achieved over the last few years.”
Hiba Okba, Digital Marketing and Communications Manager from Rockwool UK remembers winning Young Marketer of the Year back in 2021. “It went beyond just a personal achievement, it was a recognition of the collective hard work and dedication put in by my colleagues.”
Hiba is proud to also be on the judging panel this year and encourages all marketing professionals in the construction industry to participate as gives you a chance to showcase your work, elevate your profile and connect with others in the industry
From a commercial perspective, it doesn’t do your agency any harm either. “Being up there on the winners’ list helps our business” says Anna Hern, MD of Ridgemount, currently number one in the Agency league table. “We frequently get new business enquiries that have come from people looking to these awards to find the best agencies. Actually, don’t print that, I’m not sure I want everyone realising just what a benefit it can be”.
For most, it’s the sheer exhilaration of being recognised as a team that makes it worthwhile. Stuart Devoil, always big supporter: “When your campaign is shortlisted, it’s such a great feeling to go to the event with the team who made it happen. All the effort is forgotten and we’re simply there to celebrate a job well done.”
Entries close on Friday, 20th September. Don’t miss out on the chance to experience that winning feeling. Enter now.
